Our Story
The Firefighter Cancer Foundation was built on a simple but urgent truth: those who dedicate their lives to protecting others face a heightened risk that too often goes unseen—cancer. What began as a mission to raise awareness has grown into a statewide effort to educate, equip, and support firefighters and their families across New York.
Every day, firefighters step into unpredictable and hazardous environments. While the immediate dangers are visible, the long-term health risks are not always as apparent. Our foundation exists to change that. By providing critical education on cancer prevention, increasing access to protective and cancer-mitigating equipment, and offering support to those navigating a diagnosis, we aim to reduce risk and stand beside those affected.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to local fire departments.
